Albert Martinez – Former HollyFrontier Environmental Engineer
Eight years after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Albert Martinez became a public works engineer in the Midwest. After 16 years with this public works agency, Albert Martinez left the Midwest when he was hired in 2013 by HollyFrontier Cheyenne Refining, LLC as an environmental specialist.
Mr. Martinez’s work as an environmental specialist and engineer with HollyFrontier involved managing permitting (compliance) corrective actions for the company’s petroleum refinery while overseeing all its water resources. He also was the point of contact for the City of Cheyenne Engineering and the Army Corp of Engineers, among other area agencies. In addition to these duties, he managed water conservation projects, corrective action, and groundwater recovery construction projects.
Since 2018, Mr. Martinez has been a construction inspector manager and a chief construction inspector for the City of Greeley in Colorado. In addition to planning, managing, assigning, and reviewing plans for the construction services program, he also works in specialized areas of civil engineering and construction related to project management and coordination.
Mr. Martinez also is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Water Works Association and is a registered professional engineer. He attended the United States Air Force Academy and earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Wyoming and a master’s degree in environmental engineering from Oklahoma State University.
